 Samnam Petrochemical specializes in TPA(Terephthalic
Acid), the main raw material for polyester fibers. It has
annual TPA production capacity of 1.6 million tons,
which is Korea¡¯s and the world¡¯s largest TPA plant.
TPA is produced from PX(Para-Xylene), which is
generated by refining crude petroleum. TPA is used
as the main raw material for PET resins, films, paints,
and engineering plastics. TPA
provides superior thermal resistance,
abrasion resistance and insulation,
due to which its applications
are broadening into bottles, electrical
and electronic appliances, industrial
and construction materials, thus
the demand for TPA continues
to grow steadily. |
