 Until very recently, ovens were almost unheard of in Korean homes. Even now, baking remains
something done mostly by professionals. Samyang operates the chain " Mix & Bake" as a way to
help the general public learn home baking skills and the fine art of drip coffee. Mix & Bake
sell close to a thousand items, from baking Ingredients and implements to coffee products and
party materials. On-site baking lessons are offered as well, and each store has a take-out
espresso bar.
Mix & Bake stores are currently operated in two different formats,one for stores
located within department stores, and also as "baking corners" within large-scale chain discount
stores. Immediate plans include individual franchises.
